Over 460 risk managers across European have responded to the 2006 Benchmarking Survey conducted by the Federation of European Risk Management Associations (FERMA) in co-operation with Ernst & Young and AXA Corporate Solutions. Toluna, an independent, online market research company, collected the replies and analyzed the results, which were announced at the FERMA seminar on October 11th, 2006 in Brussels.

The 2004 FERMA Benchmarking Survey, realised with the support of Ernst & Young and AXACs, designed in a new format, focuses more on the risk management process than on the insurance costs. This study promotes Risk Management in adressing the questionnaire to GMs/CFOs/risk and insurance managers of the 1000 or more largest companies in Europe and Ferma members. The survey is based on the application of the European risk management standard adopted by Ferma in 2003. The survey raises awareness for the top management and provides a good vision of the state of the art in this field.

The 2002 FERMA benchmaking survey was conducted amongst FERMA members in 2002 and was presented during the Seminar organized in Brussels on 10th October 2002 under the theme "Focus on the state of the european risk management and insurance renewals".
