History

FERMA brings together the National Risk Management Associations of thirteen countries to form the Federation of European Risk Management Associations - FERMA. It represents over 4800 individual members and a wide range of business sectors from manufacturing to financial services, charities, health organisations as well as local government organisations.

It was established in 1974 under its previous name of 'Association Européenne des Assurés de l'Industrie' (AEAI) as an International Association with scientific aim to exchange ideas and experiences.

Today, FERMA is made up of 14 European Risk Management Associations representing the following countries:
